    ZRT: Comprehensive Financial Service Provider in Three Years

      With the amount invested in trusts now soaring to a nearly inconceivable 24 trillion yuan, industry leaders have also made their strides in development. Founded in 1987, ZRT has gone through its own decade-long transformation during the time when the industry was at its prime, and it was this transformation that made it turn from a local financial company to a comprehensive, mature, and durable national financial service provider. By the end of 2016, ZRT’s managed trust assets reached a staggering 682.968 billion yuan, putting the company among the top ten in the industry. In 2017, the company completed three consecutive capital increases, which greatly enhanced its capital strength, and it was thus successfully made a member of the industry's ten-billion-yuan club.
      Looking back at 2014 onward, ZRT has shrewdly seized historic opportunities regarding the development of the industry. After an extensive analysis of macroeconomic policies, economic trends, the industrial landscape, and its own characteristics, the Company took the initiative to propose its goal of completing total transformation in three to five years, with a view of shifting from “a purely financial provider to a comprehensive financial service provider that integrates private equity and investment banking, asset management, and wealth management.”
      In the following three years, ZRT continued to advance and was well-positioned to “do a good job at controlling stocks, control incremental amounts, and strengthen post-lending management”, laying a solid foundation and planning a comprehensive transition in the field of private equity financing. It became set to improve its investment management capabilities and increase value for its customers in terms of asset management business, and as for wealth management, it was not long before it was ready and willing to promote the construction of direct sales channels, improve service levels, and gradually shift from a business-oriented to a more customer-oriented model.
      Regarding the selection of industries, ZRT has always been looking for sunrise industries as well as companies that represent new productivity and new business models, all with an aim of providing outstanding companies with comprehensive financial solutions and growing in tandem with them. In the real estate sector, ZRT is more bullish when it comes to urban renewal. It is intent upon promoting design upgrades and environmental protection to residential and commercial real estate projects in central cities, with the Company wanting to promote project appreciation through more active management, and while these may seem like its main business, areas such as family trusts, financial technology, asset securitization, and mixed ownership reform are also seen as being crucial when considering such a comprehensive transformation.
      Throughout the three years, ZRT’s scale of managed trust assets remained stable as a whole (respectively 710.593 billion, 669,919 billion, and 682,967 billion for all three years), and the active management of such assets grew at a steady pace (413.787 billion to 458.504 billion and then 482.062 billion yuan). On top of those, the proportion of ZRT’s active management business also enjoyed a steady increase, with volume accounting for 71% up to the end of 2016, allowing the company to come out and in front in the industry.
      By the end of 2016, ZRT had combined management assets amounting to 858.472 billion yuan, with a net asset of 12.810 billion yuan and a secured total operating income of 6.796 billion yuan, each figure shining at the top of the industry. It was at this point that ZRT’s ratio of investment made in the real economy, including industrial and commercial enterprises and infrastructure, exceeded 50%, marking a great start to its prospective future after an utterly successful transformation.
